Ch. La Conseillante, Pomerol, 2005 is a 75cl red wine from Winebuyers. La Conseillante can trace its history back to 1735, and in 1870 it was acquired by the Nicolas family, who still own the property today. The vineyards are located in the eastern part of Pomerol, adjacent to the border with Saint-Emilion. The Grand Vin is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, sometimes with a little Malbec in the blend, and spends 18-20 months maturing in 90% new oak barrels. This wine is bursting with rich dark fruits and a silky interlacing of fine tannins. Taking on a little more power over the last decade or so, there has been no loss of finesse. Sourced from on average 35-year-old vines on the Catusseau plateau in Pomerol, the grape composition varies with vintage conditions. This wine is suitable for both men and women.
