Gaviscon Peppermint Chewable Tablets (48) Gaviscon Peppermint Tablets is used for the treatment of symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux such as acid regurgitation, heartburn and indigestion (related to reflux), for example, following meals or during pregnancy, and in patients with symptoms related to oesophagitis. They work in 2 ways: a combination of two antacids to neutralise excess stomach acid, and an alginate which forms a protective layer that floats on top of the stomach contents, keeping it away from the lining of the food pipe. Gaviscon Peppermint Chewable Tablets forms a protective layer that floats on top of the stomach contents. This layer prevents reflux and keeps the stomach contents away from the lining of the food pipe to relieve the symptoms of heartburn and indigestion. Ingredients: Each tablet contains 250 mg sodium alginate, 133.5 mg sodium hydrogen carbonate and 80 mg calcium carbonate. The other ingredients are mannitol (E421), macrogol 20,000, copovidone, aspartame (E951), peppermint flavouring, magnesium stearate and acesulfame potassium.
