When most people think of Ethiopian coffees, they think of coffees from the bigger and more popular zones such as Guji and Yirgacheffe. The lesser-known fact is that these zones are actually way larger than we could imagine (Ethiopia is about 3 times larger than Peninsular Malaysia), and they comprise many smaller regions with their own microclimates that are capable to produce wonderful subtleties.

 If we zoom into the south-eastern corner of Yirgacheffe on the map, we will find the Gedeb woreda with an average altitude of 2200-2400m, which also houses the vastly famous Worka and Banko Gotiti cooperation. Sitting quietly nearby is the Halo Hartume washing station who has been producing equally good coffees that fall in line with the classic Yirgacheffe profiles.

The current washed coffee from Hartume we offer has a refreshing floral aroma to it, reminding one of orange and coffee blossoms; the prime tasting note is clean and resembles the peach fruit, with a hint of lychee and an Oolong tea aftertaste.
