Private Walking Levada Caniçal to Pico do Facho

This is one of those trails that has a bit of everything: from the levada to the sea and back to the mountain for a unique experience, by extraordinary paths that surprise us every kilometer. The starting point of this walk is next to the old tunnel that connects Machico to Caniçal, in one of the sections of Levada do Caniçal. The path is flat and offers magnificent views over Caniçal, a beautiful fishing village that stood out until 1982 for being the center of the whaling industry. The route of the levada ends in descending way towards the center of the town. You should go on along the levada until its end and continue along the road. Enjoy the opportunity to meet the traditions and daily routines of the residents of this area. The path continues on uneven terrain across the mountain. From time to time stop to see the extraordinary view that provides this perspective, not only over the village but also the Levada and the valley.
