Syros Hiking Exploration in the Untouched Apano Meria

Enjoy an unforgettable experience on the northern side of Syros, with 360-degree views of the endless blue Aegean Sea and the surrounding Cycladic islands. We are located in the small settlement of Kambos in Apano Meria, the northernmost settlement of Syros, from where we begin our hike. We walk along old, characteristic Cycladic paths—landmarks of a bygone era. We pass by an abandoned marble quarry, with visible signs of historical use. The entire Apano Meria region of Syros is part of the Natura 2000 program and spans an area of 804 hectares. Natura 2000 is a Europe-wide network of protected areas established by the European Union to conserve biodiversity. It aims to protect endangered species of plants and animals, along with their natural habitats.
