Location: The islands are located about 70 km off the coast of Phang Nga province, approximately 85-120 km northwest of Phuket. National Park Status: Established in 1982, the entire archipelago is a protected national park, which helps preserve its rich biodiversity and pristine environment. Best Time to Visit: The most pleasant months for visiting are from November to April. Annual Closure: The Similan Islands National Park is closed annually from May 1 to October 31 to allow the ecosystem to recover during the monsoon season.
