Mtskheta and Uplistsikhe The ancient capital of Georgia - Mtskheta - should be first in the list of mandatory visits. The old city, founded in the middle of the 1st millennium BC at the confluence of two rivers - Aragvi and Mtkvari, is full of samples of ancient architecture.
