Overview

Appearing in the final stages of WWII, the Sturmtiger was a fearsome heavy assault mortar based on the Tiger I hull. It was armed with a giant 38cm rocket launcher, originally developed by the German navy for anti-submarine use. Firing its mammoth shells, the Sturmtiger was a devastating weapon for destroying heavily fortified positions and saw action from the Warsaw Uprising to the final defence of Germany.

This 1/35 scale kit from Tamiya is a detailed replica of the massive German assault mortar. The model features a realistic fighting compartment interior, complete with a shell rack and loading equipment. It is packed with features, including a movable gun breech and loading crane, assembly-type tracks, individual ammunition rounds, and a crew figure to complete the scene. Please note: the Zimmerit anti-mine coating shown in some images must be recreated by the modeller.
