Opus One is a partnership founded by Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Chateau Mouton Rothschild in Pauillac, France, and renowned Napa Valley vintner, Robert Mondavi. Producing luxury wines from its Napa Valley vineyards, the partnership made its first vintage in 1979 and has made wine at Opus one since 1991.

The essence of time is expressed in Opus One by the character of each vintage. Place, often defined as terroir, represents the geography, the climate and the essential human element that is captured in the wine’s balance between power and finesse, structure and texture.

Blend: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec 

The 2017 Opus One offers a harmonious aromatic balance of rich dark fruit, stems of roses, and an earthy forest floor.
The Juicy entry offers a round, silky mouthfeel with just enough acidity to complement the satin texture. This seductive wine shows flavors of black cassis, black cherry and a hint of cocoa powder.
The Fine-grained, plush tannins evolve into a long, supple finish.  A supremely age-worthy wine, it will delight now and for many years to come.
