Pian delle Vigne Rosso di Montalcino 2023 Antinori Tuscany - Italy Red C02

The Antinori Family has been involved in the production of wine for over six centuries, ever since, in 1385, Giovanni di Piero Antinori entered as a member, the “Arte Fiorentina”, the Winemakers’ Guild of the city of Florence. The Pian delle Vigne estate is located 3.5 miles to the south of the town of Montalcino above the Orcia river valley.

The Pian Delle Vigne estate is located 6 kilometers (3.5 miles) southwest of Montalcino. Its name comes from the eponymous area where a characteristic nineteenth-century railway station is located.  The Antinori family acquired the estate in 1995, the same year the first Brunello Pian delle Vigne was harvested.

An intense and luminous ruby red in color, the wine shows a complex nose of cherries, plums, and red berry fruit.

The palate is vigorous and vibrant, and a lovely acidic vein fused with many flavors make this an ample and balanced wine. The finish and aftertaste are persistent and lingering.
