Journey on the Cliff Railway to the Stunning Monastery

Ride one of Europe’s most scenic trains through the spectacular Vouraikos Gorge! The historic rack railway takes you from the coast up into the mountains, through tunnels, waterfalls, and sheer cliffs — an unforgettable journey carved into the rock. At the top, visit the stunning Mega Spilaio Monastery, dramatically built into a vertical cliff at nearly 1,000 meters altitude. Then continue to the mountain town of Kalavryta, where you'll have 1.5–2 hours of free time to explore, shop, or enjoy lunch at a local tavern. On the way from Athens, we’ll stop at the Corinth Canal, where you can walk across the bridge and admire views of two seas at once. The price includes advance-purchased train tickets and private transportation from and back to Athens. Lunch is not included.
