2018 Château La Tour de Mons Margaux - Bordeaux Red PC08

The Château de La Tour de Mons, formerly Tour de Marsac, took the name of its owner, Pierre de Mons, in 1623, according to the custom in the Médoc. The vineyard extends over gravelly soil.

Blend consists of 56 % Merlot, 38 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 6 % Petit Verdot                                                                                                                     

The nose is fresh, fruity, refined, and elegant. It reveals notes of ripe juicy strawberry, blackberry, and lighter hints of blackcurrant, along with touches of vanilla, flowers, and subtle hints of hazelnut in the background.

On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fleshy juicy blackberry, raspberries, black cherry, and lighter hints of small red berries, along with subtle touches of caramelization, vanilla, toast, refined minerality, and a very discreet hint of graphite. The tannins are well-integrated.
