The town of Givry gave its name to one of the five appellations of the Côte Chalonnaise, which extends the axis of the famous Côte d'Or into Saône-et-Loire. It was the monks of Cluny, then the Cistercians, who developed viticulture on this line of hills bordering the eastern facade of the north of the Massif Central.

Color: Its color is bright, with carmine and purple nuances often enhanced with purple highlights.

Nose: Its bouquet evokes violet, strawberry or blackberry, with liquorice variations, animal or wild accents. We sometimes find spices (clove).

Palate: Its palate is spicy, quite tannic in its youth, it becomes supple and pleasant with age.
