The Ornellaia Estate was created in 1981 and is located near the picturesque village of Bolgheri, on the unspoiled Tuscan coast. Ornellaia, Estate’s flagship wine, was first produced with vintage 1985. Ornellaia's 'Essence': its natural style, the exceptional quality of its terroir, and the competence of those who work in the vineyards and the cellar. 

Blend: 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot 

Aromas of blackcurrants, iodine, gravel, hints of mint and sage. Blue fruits.

Full-bodied with chewy tannins that open up with air. It is racy and very long.

Very tannic and energetic with power and focus. Muscular and very taut. This is the best Ornellaia for the cellar in years. James Suckling
